Make a Plan for the Distribution of Your Estate
You've been successful. You have accumulated some pretty sizable assets. Maybe you inherited some along the way. What will the government want when you or your spouse pass away? Will part of your retirement savings be taxed? What other options are there? What is it I hear about the estate tax laws changing? What are the current laws? Did the old ones run out? I don't want to think about dying, but I worked hard to get what I have. Maybe I do have enough liquidity to pay the taxes already. But what if that is taxed also? My beneficiaries will be fine, won't they? But if they are, is using present liquidity the best thing? Will they know what to do? Is my will current? Is it what I really want to do?
